The Haunted Coffin
The Story
Crumlin Road Prison in Belfast, Northern Ireland is only used as a tourist location but many years ago it acted as a facility for prisoner execution. According to accounts, a tourist hopped inside an empty coffin as a joke unaware that he was apparently invading the space of someone who was already there.
Analysis
Assuming that there are no photoshopping tricks involved (and if you think there is, I would love to learn about them), this could be a classic case of residual haunting.
A residual haunting is not a thinking entity, but rather an intense and emotional moment in time that is somehow recorded onto the surrounding environment, in this case a coffin.
It's not a
stretch to believe that a recently executed convict would be panicked and
emotional. If any moment would imprint into a physical environment, it
would have to be a moment like that.
Of course, as I said, this is barring any photographic or photoshop tricks that some people seem to love pulling over on people. I have suspicions, but I lack the ability to prove them.
Conclusion
If there is no trickery, it's a residual haunting.
