Phantom of the Bridge
The Story
Hi my name is Jennifer I took this photo when my husband and I were standing on
a covered bridge in Bartlett NH. I went home and looked at all the pictures
later that evening and something looked strange in one of them like someone
starring at me I took a closer look and I saw to me what looked like a girl I
saw her face clearly and also her hand reaching out towards me as if she were
trying to grab me no joke take a look. Please tell me what you think.

Analysis
I think that
this ghost is nothing more than the result of a camera phone with low resolution
and a bit of matrixing as our brains try to find recognizable patterns out of
random patterns.
While Jennifer said she saw a girl's face, for example, I saw it as a man bowing
at a woman's feet in reverence.
What I think we're really looking at are some bare tree trunks that happen to be at just the right angel to get our brains thinking that they are something they are not. As a matter of fact, when the shapes are isolated, you can see where the trees actually are.
Conclusion
Not a ghost.
Addendum
A
visitor to the forums known as patriotgyrl65 pointed out that perhaps it wasn't
the forms in the woods that Jennifer was referring to, but rather the form of
what appears to be a little girl physically on the bridge. Jennifer never
responded to my initial e-mail and, to be honest, I never even noticed the girl
until patriotgyrl65 pointed it out to me.
I have to admit, though, it's a more exciting prospect than the forms in the woods, that's for sure. It's downright spooky, but is it a ghost?
In this case as well as the first, this is another example of the brain taking light and shadow and putting something there that just isn't there. In this case what we are looking at is the continuation of the bridge structure with the "face" of the phantom nothing more than light peeking through the trellis.
Mouse over the picture to see an enhanced version where the bridge structure is clearly visible.
Conclusion
Still not a ghost, but if I saw it my initial reaction would be pooping my pants.
