St. Nazianz Whisps
The Story
Hello Jason,
My name is Heather Weber and I have a potentially intriguing photo you may be
interested in. I'll give you some background on it.
It was taken approximately July 2002 in a place called St. Nazianz at it's abandoned JFK Prep Academy school and seminary. As far as I know, it still stands. I've been back twice since then and besides being completely on edge, this picture was the only thing that I have a hard time justifying.
Local legend has it that there have been over a dozen deaths here and many
urban legends circulate locally about the hauntings. Seven of my Dad's brothers
and sisters went to this particular school (it closed in the early to mid 80's)
and one of my uncles was close to a girl who hung herself in her dorm while he
was attending. Another legend was that a pregnant nun committed suicide inside
the school. Then there's countless accounts from partying kids who have claimed
to have seen and heard things there.
So anyway, about this picture... It was taken on the second floor in the main
corridor of the JFK Prep main building. The hallway was pitch black because all
the windows were covered. The quality is not the greatest, I used a flashing
disposable camera. The girl down the hall is my sister and my dad is at the end.
Because it was dark and my sister was standing there, I said "Hey Kait!" took a
picture with the flash. As you can see, there are whisps all around the picture.
One particular one strikes me as strange, and has freaked a lot of people out
when I show them the picture. Right outside the second door on the left, the
whisps seem to form a weirdly figural formation. And even right in front of me
there's some odd shapes in the whisps as well. It's certainly the creepiest
picture I have ever taken. I could tell you a few weird things that happened
while I was there, but this is the closest thing to evidence I have. Anyway,
tell me what you think.
Thanks!
Heather

Analysis
This picture
reminds me very much of the famous Entity pictures taken back in the 60's only
then, they were visible to the naked eye when the photos were taken. Still,
these are every bit as intriguing.
First, what could they be besides spirits? It's possible that they could be
cigarette smoke or breath on a cold night. Mind you, I say it's possible but
given the "V" shaped curve of the brightest arch, I don't think that's the case.
It could also be light damage to the film. Heather did say that she was using a
disposable film camera and it's possible that light leaked in and caused the
anomalies. Again, I say it's possible - I have doubts that happened as well.
The most likely culprit for a false positive in this case would be hair. A
couple of strainds lying over the camera get illuminated by the flash and, the
next thing you know, you have whisps.
I don't know if I buy that either.
This is a tough call for me as there could be other factors I don't know about
involved in the picture and environment but to be honest, I have no explanation
to offer. The placement and angles of these wisps have me at a loss and, barring
any photoshop trickery, I think that this might actually be a picture that has
some activity in it.
Nice picture.
Conclusion
Stronger than average evidence of paranormal activity.
